Open to IMPACT 2016 participants only.
LEAD’s flagship program, IMPACT San Diego, is a series of nine full-day, issues-focused education sessions, plus optional sessions, designed to give participants a greater understanding of the critical issues and key players in our region, motivating them to use their skills to become engaged. Daylong seminar topics have included Community Leadership, Survey of the Regional Economy, K-12 Education, Arts & Culture, Technology, Health & Human Services, Military, Law & Society, Mexico & Our International Region, Growth & Environment (Infrastructure), and Politics & Regional Governance. Participants also gain hands-on experience through outside project work that will be completed in teams of eight to 10. The projects may include assisting a local nonprofit or performing policy work with the goal of making a lasting community impact.
