About the IMPACT San Diego Program

The 54 members of this year's IMPACT San Diego program have undertaken an extensive journey together over the course of 10 months to uncover a unique perspective on San Diego as an interconnected, interdependent region. The issue-based program provides insight, behind-the-scenes access, and experiential learning of San Diego's most relevant, pressing challenges and opportunities today. Key leaders provide perspective to the class, unpacking issues ranging from the regional economy, K-12 education, arts & culture, law & society, the military, and more.

In addition to broad-based and in-depth regional learning, the program also provides an opportunity for a hands-on experience in San Diego communities to which class members may not otherwise have access through the Leadership Action Team initiative. The class is grouped into six teams, each partnered with a local nonprofit agency that is providing critical service to the community. During their LEAD experience, class members work with their agency to meet a specific need, such as creating a marketing or development plan. These projects will be showcased at the class graduation on June 10.
